Hay que evaluarla desde diferentes perspectivas: la de los enfermos y familiares de COVID, la de los enfermos crónicos en los que ha repercutido la calidad de la asistencia por la prioridad de la pandemia, la del pernonal sanitario encargado de afrontar la crisis, sin tener claro ni a que se enfrentaba. Desde el punto de vista de la Reumatología, me gustaría destacar la repercusión sobre los pacientes con enfermedades reumáticas crónicas y sobre los reumatólogos Los pacientes se han visto afectados por el miedo al contagio, por tratarse en su mayoría de inmuno- deprimidos, pero también por las medidas tomadas para evitarlo, el confinamiento, que ha deteriorado su movilidad y el estado de su sistema musculoesquelético, sin olvidarlo de la salud mental, que tam- bién se ha visto afectada de manera importante. Para los reumatólogos la situación ha supuesto una difícil adaptación a las consultas no presenciales, fundamentales en nuestra especialidad, a la incertidumbre de cómo podría afectar el SARS-COV- 2 a nuestros pacientes y a tener que apoyar a nuestros hospitales en la atención de los pacientes COVID, como en otras áreas ajenas a nuestra práctica habitual. De esta situación todos debemos aprender que la salud es lo más importante, reconocer cual es el orden de prioridades, pero también la capacidad de adaptación a las circunstancias adversas de la que pode- mos salir todos fortalecidos. ABSTRACT The Covid-19 pandemic has led to a global health crisis which has posed a challenge for both the health system and healthcare professionals. This crisis needs to be evaluated from different perspectives: that of Covid patients and their relatives; that of chronic patients in general, who have suffered a decline in the quality of medical care due to the priorities of the pandemic; and that of healthcare personnel, who had to confront the crisis without even knowing what they were facing. From the point of view of rheumatology, I would like to focus on the impact of the pandemic on patients with chronic rheumatic diseases and on rheumatologists themselves. Most of the patients are immunocompromised and for this reason they have been especially affected by the fear of infection. They have also been directly affected by the measures taken to avoid the spread of the virus, e.g. lockdowns and curfews, which have resulted in a reduction of their mobility and a deterioration of their musculoskeletal system, not forgetting the impact on their mental health, which has also suffered significantly under these circumstances. For rheumatologists, the situation has meant a difficult adaptation to remote medical consultations, fundamental in our field, the uncertainty of how SARS-COV-2 would affect our patients and also the extra effort of supporting our hospitals in COVID patient care and in other clinical areas outside our usual field of practice. What we should all learn from this situation is that health is our most important good. We should identify our order of priorities and the ability to adapt to adverse circumstances and emerge from the crisis strengthened.
